Sun 08 July 2001 ::

The Bali Theme continues!

Received lots of positive feedback about this theme, especially many emails about those "carved wooden wall thingy" in last week indoor plant pics - which were shown in last week's preview page. It seems most people don't read the news page and hit straight for the downloads! :) To avoid missing out on info regarding occasional downloads with unique instructions, do make it a habit to read news, and especially the preview page, otherwise I'll have to squeeze the news editorial on the main index page so that everybody will not missed out on important information! :) Anyway...here you go - more update on Bali Theme!

Today we are served ALL NEW SHAPES:
[1] Windows Set in 3 designs
[2] Frameless Door - Living Large [more non-Balinese frameless doors are on the way too]
[3] New shape Teak Dining Set with craved lotus design
[4] Balinese relief art
[5] Balinese Carved Stone Walls

Other site news
A Recalls page is added - please check that space from time to time for Simorphor recalls. And animal lovers of the world - get ready for the next big thing from Simorphor - a really really adorable pet is on its way to roam your neighborhood!! Check this place for preview pics soon. :)

Sims Community News
Another expansion pack is on its way! It is called "The Hot Date". What is so exciting about this one is that your sims will get to leave the house for once and go DOWNTOWN! I can't wait..... Check out more news on that on the official site

Weds 04 July 2001 ::

Hiya! Happy Independence Day to the Americans!!! [and the American Sims too!] :)

Here in quieter Singapore, in Simorphor's little creative universe........the Bali Theme is launched! Yeah! :)

The island of Bali has long been heralded as a The paradise on earth by the East and West alike. The reknown Balinese Style of architecture and interior deco is increasingly popular the world over. It is a story of modern cross cultural legacy, and very much in tune with Simorphor's sense of being in a global village... Starting today, Simorphor would like to introduce the best of Bali to The Sims Community.... :)

Today we start with:
[1] 4 Warp 'Ikats' - intricately designed fabric produced by weavers throughout Indonesia for use as both ritual objects and prestige garments. The sacred textiles were thought to have protective powers and played major roles in ceremonial events. The ones made here are of Sumba origin, known for its vivid contrast and striking motifs
[2] 3 beautiful tropical indoor plants, including a Bird of Paradise in a black glazed urn
[3] A Painting by Vietnamese artist [not Balinese but certainly fits in well]
[4] 12 brand new walls and 12 wooden floors, versatile, hardy, tropical or temperate zone proof. :)

More Balinese gems on the way... stay tuned...

The Glass Wall Survey is nearing completion. Those who haven't done the survey and downloaded the glass wall please find it here :)

Fri 29 June 2001 :: Hello again!

This week is a "Build Mode week". A total of 23 objects uploaded today:

6 sets of Floor-to-celing Plate Glass Windows/ Glass Doors
3 sets of Sandstone Columns
2 Tropical Outdoor Plants : A Coconut Tree and a Fern Bush
1 Antique Chinese Dressing Table [a mirror]

In addition to that, you'll find 2 stone tile floors sets at the wallfloor page. Those who love the glass wall shall be excited by the Floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows of the same dimensions, except these come with frames. The similar looks and feels to the original plate glass window is intentional. Tip: alternate full length plate glass of any colors with full length glass wall in a stretch to create a refreshng new look.

The Glass Wall Survey is still going strong after running for a week. To ensure the survey's accuracy, I've decided to let it run until the number of daily participants drop exponentially. To those who'd taken the survey last week: would like to thank you again for taking the survey in good faith, and for your many wonderful and even suprising suggestions! You light up my days! :) [songs etc] Alright enough mushy gooey stuff... One funny thing I kept getting was many people still think this site is run by more than one person. Ah...if only that's true...nevermind. :) Anyway, a brief survey summary will be published here when the survey is closed and sorted....

Wait - a strange response from the survey: I was told and then found out that there'd been a few public discussions about Simorphor "becoming a pay site". I'd like to clarify that it is not true - Simorphor has no intention to start charging subscription fees. Apparently it's a reaction, possibly from misreading my survey question related to "hypothetical donation amount". :) A few people whipped up the "Simorphor asking about donation" thing into a frenzy, and then rumors of "Soon we'll have to pay Simorphor to download" started to spread. I was liked, huh? How rumor spreads! So, once more, Simorphor is not imposing payment. OK? There's a difference between asking for donation and imposing payment, OK? :) Clarified? Simorphor is not making us pay to download. Downloads here is free. OK? Do me a favor, please help clear the rumor when you hear it. Thank you... The reality is....I'm still unsure where to take this site which started as a pure hobby site and is turning into something which dominates my life. I will come to some sort of conclusion, and give you a detailed projection after I go through the thousands of survey feedback... :)

I shall put aside a few hours this weekend completing the Links and Feedback page, and, yes - playing the game! Been making so many new objects but haven't had any time left to play the game [or make new sims characters], as usual.... Going to shop around for some new wardrobe for a few new celebs and non-celeb sims, which are in the works [Holly I heard you! Your Nick is semi-formed! But I'm a perfectionist!!!!] :)

Thurs 21 June 2001 :: The glass wall is launched. So is The Glass House. Adding to this major update week are the much requested sandstone dining set and Monsoon bay window seats. Mono Walls and floors added to the basic foundation wallfloor series.

To the Update List Subscribers : you maybe suprised to find that you missed one update - the one on the 17th. But actually you didn't - it was a site-testing update. And as expected tons of links were mis-connected, but had all been fixed. The navigation system is far more efficient and "open" now. Feel free to browse the new previous update page, or take the teleporter at random to anywhere on the site - who knows you may discover some older stuff that you missed downloading before. Do read the last update news for more info...about the new roofs etc.

Alright I'm so exchausted from this major update I need to go to the beach this weekend to stare at the sea waves or i won't be able to see things beyond 10 feet soon. Enjoy building your new houses and peeping at your sims through the glass. Keep the nice feedback coming will ya. :)

Sun 18 June 2001 :: MAJOR SITE UPDATE

What a wonderful and crazy week! Can hardly believe I've finally combed through all htmls, created many new ones, and am finally finally finally close to 100% completing this major site update. Major changes: Navigation, especially in the Things department, when objects - old and new, can all be browsed at a glance. New visitors no longer have to wonder where the glass windows or elevators are! Celebrate! As I re-organized the site's hierachical structure some links hiccups are expected here and there, so yes please be a good sims site visitor that your are - do keep those bad link reports coming so I can fix them ASAP. :)

And talk about MAJOR update: check out the brand new ROOFS page!

Things section: More glass and stones at Simorphor!
Addition this week:
Living - The glass set with 3 transluscent items [which answered quite a few glass enthusiasts' prayers...]
Deco - 2 items
Bath - 2 items
Outdoor - 3 items

This Sunday update is just a beginning to a new frequent update season at Simorphor; as the site management gets streamlined, adding new files will become more efficient and hopefully - even more frequent. Expect more stuff to be added mid-week into the other things categories. Wish I could load them all at once but I can't repeat enough the time-consuming process of site production. Anyway, enjoy this fresh new season at Simorphor. More interesting stuff in store...

Coming up:
Check out the preview items - the next big thing:

Now this is another one of Simorphor's proud breakthrough! :) Not the blank invisible "pseudo glass wall", not an opaque "glass wall", - but a full-length, floor-to-ceiling transparent glass wall! The Sims Neighborhood will never look the same again from this point on. Remember you saw it here first and be sure to get it here first! I know it's impossible to patent or own such a breakthrough, and that it is not exactly reverse-engineering feat, but like the very first borderless windows pioneered by Simorphor, I do bask in the joy of being, well, a pioneer in this department. The first one who get a lightbulb in this and acted and expanded that idea - so humor me will ya. :) And spread the news!! Be patient - this glassy gem will be upload mid week while I iron out a few little inperfections so keep your shopping antenna up.

Other cool stuff: Simorphor's outdoor flavor continues with a stone dining set for your Al Fresco dining Sims... Okay...pheeewww....back to site production and see ya!

Sun 10 June 2001 :: It's been a woody and glassy week here at Simorphor. Jazz up your living rooms with my first "sets" offering: The Jazz bookcase sets in classic cafe brown and tea shade. Each set consists of four items: Tow bookcases and two matching coffee tables. Happiness for a few regulars who requested for glass doors - here you go: 2 elegant glass doors for starters!

RECALL - 10 June 2000 -
Those who have downloaded The Debut House before the above date and found all the doors [including the front door] missing: the missing door issue is solved. please re-download the new debut house zip pack [unless you don't mind removing and replacing the walls where the invisible doors are, and reinstall all the doors yourself]. Thanks for the report [and the enthusiastic response :) ] !!

Coming up: The redesigning of site structure and navigation is in the works and visitors will find the site even easier to navigate after the major site update next week. A few really cool items on the way including one of my "breakthrough" objects - the glass lovers will definitely love what Simorphor has in store! But for now I shall be mysterious... ;)
Tues 6 June 2001 :: Sandstone bridge, 3 sets of animated aromatic candles, a dozen red roses in a glass jar, and an antique chest uploaded!

As the content of this site increases in volume, I'm redesigning the site navigation for the next big update, so that it's easier for new visitors to find the older objects. Stay tuned for a new skin section with new tutorials and downloads, plus the usual high quality and original objects! :)
Thurs 31 May 2001 :: Will be uploading some interesting stuff in a while - including a garden bridge and animated aromatic candles in assorted colors. Keep checking.. :)
Fri 18 May 2001 :: HELLO I AM BACK!!!!! Yes I'm alive and kicking and beaming with new ideas. Oh my goodness I can't believe it's been that long since I last "simmed". A lot of catching up to do with the community. Thanks for your amazing patience!!!!! Thanks for your non-stop lovely emails!!! I feel so much love and warmth overhere!!!! Awwww it feels so great to get back to simorphing for you passionate Simsters again....and before I get all gooey and mushy and stuff here's the LONG awaited debut house for your enjoyment, plus the much requested sliding door. Have a great, high-fun-score weekend!
Sun 07 May 2001 :: The work project is coming to an end, and Simorphor will be back to bring you new and exciting stuff soon within the next few days! Stay tuned...and to a few nice emailers: thanks for your kind concerns. My work-related flu is now subsiding. Will see you soon!
